Wow!!  Those drawings are incredible!  I am new to the newsletter and to the
site (rotaryeng.net), which is by far the most informative and professional
site with regards to the rotary engine.  I especially like the free thinking
and innovative spirit by the members, and Mr.Lamar.  Were the drawings done
in AutoCad?  Are the dimensions accurate and to scale?  Reason why is I am
designing a turbo exhaust manifold for my 13BT and would like to mate it up
to the side of one of your drawings.  I'm using ACAD 2005 and attempting
solid modeling.  Sorry for all the questions.  Have a good day.

I use Rhino V3. I have Solid Works but I find Rhino much easier to learn.
Everything is to scale and dimensions on request.
You can get a student version of Rhino for about $300.
Much easier than ACAD 3D. Plus we can share files. 3D is ideal
for manifolds.

Here is the idea I had. Mill grooves in the Teflon for Teflon
encapsulated O-rings. The oval shapped grooves never allow the O-rings to pass
over the holes in the sheet metal.

Wow! indeed! I am of the same opinion. Paul's site is the most informative
one I've found on the web. And he provides data to support his statements,
which is outstanding! Without data, opinion is just hot air. Paul provides a
unique valuable service to all rotor heads or would be rotor heads.

Paul, I would like to buy you a beverage of your choice. I am planning on

Guess I am going to have to get a copy of  Rhino V3. Any vendor suggestions?
And how do you get a student discount?

Rhino and a year later he asked me if I would teach a class on it :)

My "local junior college" is 60 miles away. I live in the boonies. Will look
into signing up this fall anyway; not sure they offer any design classes. I
looked at Rhino's instructional offerings but would have to pay the
commercial fee. Any on-line qualifying courses available?

Well perhaps you can contact some college and see if they
offer an on line course. Can be in anything. All they want prof
of is registering. You don't really need to attend classes.
Save yourself $600.
