Thanks for the rendering I've always wanted one of those.
Did you use Rhino? If so could you send me the file? Also,
what are the dimensions of that formula one style intake.
I would like to make a couple. I have some pretty good ideas.
I think I can turn the blank on my Lathe, and then lay up some
glass over it.
Tony
If you can stand the ugly factor make the runners 24 to 28 inches
from side port to trumpet mouth :) The butterfly throttle can be in
the air scoop cum plenum. The opening should be about 3 inches
in diameter. The native Rhino file is too big to email.

Well that's just it. I really don't want ugly per say. I like the
function aspect of it no doubt, but your right it is ugly. there
must be a better way to skin this cat to get the same results.
How much BHP will I see in this configuration as opposed to say
something like mistrals intake? What I'm trying to get at is, to
have form and function. How much HP will I loose from the form
aspect of the intake? Lets say for argument sake that in this
configuration I get 190hp but if I go over the top, or make a
SLIGHT bend in the intake to keep it below the cowling I may
only get 180hp, which would be o.k. for a long EZ. I think ; ) .
do I have to have the runners that length what happens if I cut
3 or 4 in off? where is the runner length on these renderings?
Tony
----------------------------------------------------------
The 24 to 28 inch runner length is center line of the pipe
from the side port to the trumpet.
Give me some dimensions. Straight up from the front and rear
RB intake manifold flange to the cowl surface. And straight up from
the top of each rotor housing to the cowl surface.
Then place a long carpenters level on the RB intake manifold flange
and see if it clears the top of the rotor housing. If so give me
the dimension from the bottom of the level to the top of the
rotor housing.
You won't get as much power at 6500 RPM as the Mistral manifold has
been carefully developed on the dyno for peak power at 6500 RPM
or so. My guess is you will get somewhere between 175 and 185 HP
at around 6500 RPM. Maybe Jim Medere can tell us what the
stock Weber gives at 6500 RPM with the stock 6 port man length.
Are you street porting your six port? Are you using the 2.85:1
gear or the 2.17:1 gear? If the 2.85:1 gear you can go up to
7500 RPM use shorter runners and get more HP.
