Hi Paul,
This is not and aircraft subject but a Rotary one. What do you know about
running auto gas in the rotary? What power loss is there and how does it effect
the seals and other wearing parts. I know they use gas in them in many
applications but have no other info that piont out the plus and minus sides.

Not much. "auto gas"? Is that gasoline?
People have run them on propane I know.

I have been running no lead 87 octane gasoline here in
the states in my RX8. I can't tell the difference.
What do they have over there in Perth?

Paul, how's your  experience been using 87 octane in terms of power and
economy in your RX-8? I usually go for premium, and only occasionally
mid grade.  I haven't been able to tell the difference in power so far.
 Do you think the engine will run OK for long periods on 87 octane?  I
know the computer should prevent detonation, but are there any other
long-term concerns?

I can't tell the difference either. I rarely use full performance.
I am one of those people that shift into sixth as soon as possible
to save gas. I only use full performance/power when I want to humiliate
a Porsche or BMW or something like that :)
