I am building an RV9-A, and will be using a 13B p-port. So I will
need an engine mount.
 I am not sure what "I have a fixture that can accommodate any
aircraft." means. Do you mean that you can supply an engine mount
for an RV9-A?
 In any event, I am interested.

Doc,  I can build a S-Beam rotary engine mount for just about  any
aircraft.  For example the last two built were for an Acro Sport
and the
Bush Caddy.  To begin with, I need a drawing showing the hard
points on
the firewall where the engine mount bolt on.  These should be
related to
the engine thrust lines vertical and horizontal. In other words the
top
right attachment point is xxx distance above the thrust line and xxx
distance to the right if the thrust line.  Also needed is the distance
of the prop flange from the firewall.  This info should be in the RV 9
plans.  Would you be using the Renesis or the 13B?

 Once you gather this data, send it to me and CC to Paul Lamar who
will
design engine mount.  Paul does not charge for this service.  The
benefit is a properly engineered engine mount specific to  your
installation.  Another advantage is that the design will become
part of
an archive that other RV9 builders will be able to use.
Once you are happy with the design I will quote a price.

   I am Jerry's Acro Sport customer. Because my spools are welded in
they never end up exactly to print so I put a piece of plywood
against the end of the longerons and back drilled the holes for the
mount. While in plywood was bolted in this position I drew a vertical
centerline and a horizontal thrust line on the plywood then sent it
to Jerry. It came back a month later with an engine mount bolted to
it that fit my plane perfectly. The workmanship is excellent.

Real close to what I measured. Some dimensions are right on. All are within
Ken's 1/4". Hah!

Drawing 46A carries the caption "RV-6A, 7A, 9A" So if it applied to a 6A I
expect it will apply to the 9A.

I am sending the attachments again.

Since I have 1/4" holes in the four courners of the firewall, it would be
nice to match them. The top dimension of 37 1/8 I measured 37 3/16; I don't
know if Van changed the dimension or I made a mistake when I drilled it. The
other two (19 3/8 V and 37 3/8 H) are the same. Vans mount uses 3/8 bolts;
there is enough slop to make it work. So even if Jerry uses the dimensions
from your drawing I think it will work out allright.

Whew! What a relief!

Paul, you and your resources are absolutely amazingly awesome!

BTW, I am really pleased that you will be doing a seminar at Copper State.
