Bill,
A quick look at the super Pulsar ( nice looking aircraft) showing 125hp
motor at 205 lbs - is that correct.
The single rotary will be heavier than that but could be used with some
tail
weight.

 George,
Yes you have it correct. The Super Pulsar was built with the
Continental IO-240.
The 240 is really a bit heavier than 205 lbs. Any 2 rotor would be too
heavy in standard form.
An all aluminum 2 rotor could pass though. Even with a super restrictive
intake and exhaust
the 2 rotor could make 100 hp.
Bill

I have added all AC engine weights to the web site.
http://www.rotaryeng.net/all-aircraft-engine-weights.txt

The Lyc O-235 is listed at 240 pounds. that is about the same
as a bare 2 rotor with PSRU but no alt, starter, coolant, intake,
exhaust and coolant rads. Most 2 rotor FW installation comes in
at over 300 pounds.

Paul Lamar ...No rotor no motor.

Thanks Paul and Bill,
The single rotary comes in the same weight as the LyncO-235 ( 240lbs), wet
with RSRU, I'm led to believe. You can get a single e-shaft from x-treme
rotaries for $1,500 Aust ( $1125 Aust) + Postage and Handling.
Tracy's EMS will drive a single rotary and the PSRU will be more than
enough - my only other concern is the type of damper needed to manage those
larger ( single rotor) torque reversals.
To get 125 Hp, P-port would be needed with High Compression rotor ( RX8)
with 3mm apex seals.
I'm afraid my single rotor development has slowed to a stop until I can get
some of these parts made at a reasonable price.
