OK folks here is a suggested test device.
   I'll make the end caps on my lathe and JB Weld
   them to the tube section. I'll install a tubeless tire
   valve to pressurize it and a pressure gage fitting
   on the other end. Then I will boil it for a couple
   of hours, pump it up and see if it leaks.
   Then put it in the freezer for a few hours. Take it out and
   pump it up again and see if it leaks.

   Can anybody think of any changes in the configuration
   they would like to see?

Put anti freeze in the tube, then pressurize and boil it since that is
what it will be sealing, not just pure water. I tried to seal a leak in
an auto AC system with JB-Weld and the R-134 would leak through in a few
hours.
