None of Tony's polished  housing picts came through for me. Could you send
again?  BTW I just read about 28 pages of posts about building P-ports on
the RX-7 site along with pictures and comments.  I suggest you refer people
to read it as it will save you and them countless hours of speculating about
the what ifs:)

P-ports don't have a good rep on street cars because of the
low RPM stumble and relatively poor idle. Also most racers
are not specifically  aware of the effect pipe length and diameter
has on torque peak and max HP. They tend to use pipes that are
too short and then complain about the lack of torque
at low RPM. There is a lot of urban myths out there on
P-ports. In fact some very famous rotary engine tuners have never
seen any of the many SAE papers Mazda published over the
years. I am sure they all have opinions however.
