Paul, seeing Geir's beautiful injector holders got me to thinking
about the intake design once again.  For future intakes I have
completely given  up on the idea of keeping the fuel on the cool
side.  Instead,I am depending on enclosing the intake so that it
cannot leak on to the exhaust.  Put both  injectors in the
insert,Easy to do and it looks right!!   It will back up the throttle
plate a few inches  but  having seen the p port hot rods at
SevenStock with  butterflies about 10 inches away from the port,
idling o.k. leads me to believe that is not something to worry about

Well ten inches is one thing 20 inches is another.
See the previous scale 3D. You need to do all this including
the injectors holders in 3D scale.

Why do you want to go to all the trouble of butterflies?
The slide throttle is easier to fabricate and less drag.
Don't forget... the intake runner is a high speed
aerodynamic device. 300 MPH or more.

Would you stick a giant  butterfly shaft and plate up
above your wing?

The drawing I sent is to scale as far as intake length/diameter is
concerned. That is a 21 inch intake. True I did not try to accurately
portray the injectors as I don't know their dimensions.   I found
some reinforced hose that has a smooth interior that I may use for
the sweep.  I don't care about the slide throttle vs butterfly
debate.  Clearly they both will work.   As soon as a working version
of the slide throttle as designed is proven, I will gladly go that
way. You did not say, but what are your thoughts on the injector
location that I proposed?   Jerry

Yes but one will work much better than the other.
The slide throttle works fine. Two different version have been
tried and they both work. Not to mention the hundreds of
metal slide throttle used in the past in all kinds of
engines including the rotary. Why do you doubt this?
The Teflon slide throttle is a major break through in
the cost of slide throttles. Thats all. Functionally it
is the same as any other slide throttle.

The injector bosses are not drawn to scale and they wont fit
as shown.
