    Paul,

I only have a few pics of the OMC and the PP 13B, attached.

All your suggs are excellent .... just no time to implement.

I have been working to replace the roof on my home for about 5 months
(by myself) and I am still not done.
I now have a monstrosity here in the driveway called a Ford Expedition
that my friend's daughter ran out of oil.
Of course they bought the one with the largest engine, 5.4L.
Basically one has to remove ALL the crap off the top of the engine just
to get to the two top bell housing bolts. Took me two days just to get
this far, engine still in the car.

Blocking off all the coolant passages on the PP 13B so I can pressurize
would take some time ..... just don't have it right now.
It appears to have good compression though. Just wish I knew who
rebuilt it so I could give them a call to get the low down on the
    "provenance" !

Well that is a start on the OMC pictures.
Sure would like to see some other views.

Paul Lamar ...No rotor no motor.

    Bruce,

The easy way to get the two top bell housing bolts out is to use a 4
foot 1/2 inch drive socket extension and swivel (universal) socket
from underneath the car.  Usually, you don't have to even lower the
    trans.

=========================

Joel,

If that worked for you with this exact setup then you are a magician.
Done that with other vehicles but not this one.
I was not able to get to the top two bell housing bolts until I removed
everything from the top of the engine, which is no easy task with this
monster V-8 tucked half under the firewall.  After getting these out I
found two more hidden bell housing bolts at 9PM and 3AM above some
flanges on the bell housing.  The one on the passenger side took me an
hour using long extensions etc.  The exhaust is directly in the way and
there was a slip joint at the rear that did not want to be messed with.
Ford forgot about metal donut flanges, cheap bastards.
3 days just to get the engine out of the POS.  Ford can Kiss MY A**.
End result ?  Two rear pistons (one on each bank) not moving when
flywheel turned.  Pistons were hitting the heads.  Will pull off the pan
tomorrow for fun.
