  This comes from "AVIATION An Illustrated History" by Christopher Chant.
Published in London in 1987 by Black Cat.  ISBN 0-7481-0011-3.  No photo
credit is given in the book.

  The only text accompanying the photo is this sidebar: "Aircraft designers
are increasingly attracted to the 'exotic' to overcome problems long
associated with 'conventional' designs.  This tendency, also visible in
civil aircraft design, is most apparent in military prototypes.  Left: The
Edgley Optica is designed to bridge the gap between helicopters and
fixed-wing aircraft for observation purposes, it's teardrop forward fuselage
offering magnificent fields of vision, and the ducted fan in the centre
section (allied with good controls) offering a very wide speed range."
