An advantage of using a turbo charged rotary is that you can fly to a
much higher altitude. What altitudes can normally be flown using
Normally aspirated, Blown, and Turbo? Do anyone have a chart that gives
a ballpark estimate of each?
Rick Irwin
There ares some charts in Hugh Macinnes book Turbo chargers.
Depends a lot on the span loading of the airplane.
Lower span loading the higher the airplane can go.
NA 18,000 feet should be no problem, perhaps 25,000 for
a supercharger and about 30,000 for a turbo. A super and
a turbo together ought to get you up to 40,000 feet.
I am mostly guessing. There are a lot of variables.
