It looks like you are a bit of an oil expert.
What is your take on Mobil 1 vs.  Redline vs. AMSOIL (in no specific order)?
I personally have never viewed them to be equals, but would like an
expertâ??s opinion.

  I'll define 'your take' as an opinion question and choose to handle it
that way.  :-)

  I think that each of these three companies produces synthetic oils for
different missions.

  ExxonMobil is a fuel company first, and sells oil as an additional income
stream.  I've been told by a retired VP of a large gas/oil company that his
oil company made more money selling to the plastics industry than to the
auto oil market.  I think Mobil is the leader in quarts sold.  Mobil sells
petroleum, synthetic blend, and synthetic products.

  AMSOIL and Redline are oil blending companies - their lube products are
their main focus.

  AMSOIL's primary goal is endurance products.  All of their products are
synthetic.  Their main focus is transportation and industrial.  They're
credited with being the 'first in synthetics':

  I think Redline's main target is on racing products first, street products
second.  They make some very tightly focused niche products - like racing
2-cycle oil for folks running methanol.
