You do know they have ball valves in pvc that are much lighter and work

Yes but I don't know the long term effects of gasoline
on PVC. There are bronze valves with chrome balls
running in Teflon seats. Can't get much better than
that. Also $7 each is very cheap for an aircraft
part.
