Wouldn't it make sense to create a venturi on one side of the slide
throttle
housing? The venturi part may be as simple as an add on 1/2 thick ring
that slips between the manifold and slide throttle. That way you can use
the tapered central needle with its outlet emptying directly into the
airstream which IMHO is the essence of good fuel vaporization. A small
rectangular header tank could be put on top of the slide. Vapor lock
shouldn't be a problem with the tank close at hand. It could be heated for
cold starts and the rely on engine heat for operations. Ethanol ALWAYS
needs
preheat on cold days. About 10 watts I am told.
One challenge would be how to create a linear cam that can depress both
spring loaded needle valves equally and be in sync with the throttle
linkage. More complication.

Why? None of the other sliding block carbs have venturi's .
A bit of heat will vaporize the fuel no problem.
My guess is 150 F.
Venturi's have aerodynamic drag.
What needle's? We don't have needle's. No needle's.

Doug the only reason to create a venturi is if you need to pull _FUEL
UP_ like a standard carburetor does. The vacuum is needed to lift the
fuel the 1/2 to 1 inch from the float bowl. This is why your fuel level
is critical on a carburetor. Think of this system as a 32 ft/sec/sec
fuel injector system. Also the taper only WILL and already has worked,
you just need to control the cross-section carefully.
