Paul,  here are a few photos of the oil pan, now welded. It  should
have been cleaned up before I took the photos...The strut bracket is
milled out of a solid chunk.
I am   undecided about how to handle the drain.   I am thinking of
welding in a piece of thick wall aluminum tube  right on the bottom
corner below the strut bracket in plane with the bottom of the pan.
It would be tapped for a plug.   Also, should  there be a fitting for
a drain from the drive?    The flange and the back piece that the
strut attaches to are .188" thick. The sides are .125 and the bottom
is .063. I would like to build the whole thing out of .125 if  you
think it is up to the task. Certainly the flange does not need to  be .
188.  Perhaps the back piece that holds the strut bracket??  This pan
was a learning experience.   The next one will be  a lot nicer.

P.S. If any body wants one,  for the first three orders I am going
to provide the complete engine mount for any airplane INCLUDING THE
PAN AS SHOWN for $1000. (RV and Tailwind tail draggers would be more
for the gear mounts of course.)

is the oil pan suitable for a renesis?
I would need a mount for an RV-4.

Thomas,  I can make a pan that fits the Renesis.  The Renesis pan is
a little longer and a few of the bolts are located differently.  I
recently made an S-beam engine mount for an Acro Sport which has
similar dimensions to the RV-4 as far as the firewall is concerned.
It worked out very well.   If you can send to Paul Lamar the location
of  your firewall hard points (where the engine mount bolts on) and
the thrust line, he will design the mount.  This guarantees the
engineering will be right on.   In the case of the RV4, you would
supply the gear mount.  I have the contact info for that.    You can
