  Hello All,

Just saw the "Rocket Man" performance at the Rose Parade. Vance was
involved with this project, it was talked about at his Remembrance. The
performance is about 1 hour into the parade, I think it is worth seeing
the replay. Paul you may want to put it on the site.

about Rocket-man, you may want to look at this web site:

Sorry, this swissman speaks only french on his web-site. However, the videos
are international, and VERY impressive !

Rgds and happy new year 2007

Looks interesting but it requires a plug in that is not available
for my Thunderbird browser. He should use the same video format
as Utube.

Is it powered by a model turbo jet engine or does he just jump
out of airplanes and glide around?

Paul Lamar ...No rotor no motor.

Paul,
From what I gather, he jumps out of an aeroplane with wings folded, he then
unfolds his wings and glides for a time and then winds up the small jets (
how?) and goes into free flight for about 6 minutes at up to 185 kts.
Probably can't carry much more fuel than that!
He then deploys his parachute for landing.
I'm very impressed with his effort - pity about the drawbacks i.e. flight
time, take-off and landings.
