     Paul,
     I spoke to the chief engineer (X-Treme) they had one made for testing
a
     single rotor set-up and wern't interested unless there was an order
     for ten
     at $1,500 ea ($1,200 US). Very expensive IMHO, they would however be
     of a
     high quality.
     I have made a new contact that I should be able to contact next
     week, who
     has his on machining shop (CNC), I've had dealings with his brother
and
     others associated with him, so we shall see what come of our
     discussions.
     The exchange rate is about 79 to 80 Austs cents to the US$, X-treme
     have a
     different method of placing the rotor filling jet which may or may
     not be
     the best way to go.

Please forgive the ignorance, but would`nt a cut-down 13b shaft work for
a single rotor?

That is usually the way it is done. Then you need new counter
weights of course... new shaft or cut down shaft. No difference.
One rotor engines wind up costing more than two rotor engines.
It is cheaper to change the type of airplane :)

hi all,    you are stuck with type if your an old pilot like me who cant
pass that physical any more.  its single rotor or else. George, can you send
a picture or drawing of the X-treme cooling jet.  i think i prefer the mazda
e-shaft to a new design. after all it is backed by billions of hours of
service and race track proven.  it will be stronger after machining because
it is shorter and has fewer holes in it. the best machinist i know says
doing it on one of his machining centers is a piece of cake. price should be
under $400. this is one part mazda built right.  Hurley will build you a
single rotor for $2500. he will sell an e-shaft for $400. i think Alturair
will sell one for the same price.  Atkins only wants $1100 with counter
weights and balanced.  i think we are mostly homebuilders because we are
poor boys. X-treme seems to build for the racing boys with the deep pockets.
