The intake runner length on this was about 15 inches on two inch
tubing. The port went in at a slight angle which IMHO and Mazda think
is not as good as straight in. I don't know what caused
the glitch.

Excellent info!
Note the torque peak despite the 46mm chokes - have to check if this
correlates with the Lemans dyno curves.
Do you know the angle of the PPort inserts? it appears to be slightly down.
Given your Rhino skills and a curve for the epitrochoid, have you ever
compared the ingested air volume near BDC based on the rotor position?
It would be interesting to know the comparative volumes relative to the
oil injection hole in the housing. This could give a rough multiplier
(ignoring
mass air flow...) that any tuned intake would need to overcome for
intake close angles, before compression would start to force air back
into the intake.

It is obvious from this that 15 inches is too short for
aircraft use.
