How is the slide throttle project doing?  Did Doc find a machine shop
to take it on?    Jerry

Tooling and fixtures are being made as I write this. I have ordered  two
prototypes. The machinist says he expects the finish to be 12 microinches or
less. I am planning on having them hard anodized as the estimated  cost is
minimal and the corrosion resistance of value, especially if mogas  users get
a batch with alcohol in it. If someone wants bare aluminum that can  be an
option.

There will be two models, one short and one long. The throttle
characteristics are identical, the only difference is the throttle  cable
mechanical attachments. The short version is for the A-750 cable,  the long
for the A-1760 as listed in the Aircraft Spruce catalog. I will  discuss the
attachment details and relative merits a at a later time.

My recovery from hip replacement surgery is going much better than I
expected, less than 3 weeks post-op. I plan to visit the machine  shop later
this week for an update. I will update the newsletter after that  visit. I
also plan on setting up a web site.

I hope to return to work on the RV9-A in a few weeks.

That sounds great Doc.  I am glad your recovery is going well.
Don't rush it.  I had knee surgery that healed so quickly that I
returned to normal activity way too soon and now I face another
surgery to fix the damage.  Jerry

Yeouch!! That sure puts a damper on my desire to go out to the shop!
