Subject: Alaska GlaStar.... help needed from all the professors online

Thanks for all the responses thus far.  I don't really want to have the
engine torn down, but I would rather try and get it right the first
time.... so if I can p-port my engine now(as in shipping it somewhere
reliable...  I do not have much in the way of machining tools) without
to much difficulty and then use a slide throttle that would be great.

I plan on going on floats one day and short gravel strips up here
require the higher hp for takeoff.  I am not too concerned about
cruise.  I will be lucky to see 120 kts with the 26" tundra tires and
105kts with floats.

You can all call me K11, a nick name I got from the Guard.....
Kvernplassen was to long to put on the flight scheduling board so they
just put K+11, which then just got shortened to K11.

Attached is a couple of pictures of the plane and engine

thanks, Paul K

Looking good Paul. No need to tear down the engine unless
you p-port it. With a Glass Star I think 150 to 180 HP
should be fine. What part of Alaska are you in?
I have flown up there and back once. Rented a plane in
Anchorage once. And flew to Yellowknife and back once.
