I can now follow the rotor motion and see how the e gear controls the
rotation of the rotor by keeping the seals tracking along the housing. if
the output shaft rotation is that "bmw" symbol and since there isn't
actually a crankshaft, then it still isn't obvious how the prop gets
turned.

It's just a model but I think of it as a one rotor engine with the
prop is on the other side.
The one with the cage is nice also.

The one on Wikipedia has a shading pattern on the output shaft to show
that it turns but the part representing the lobe does not have any
markings.

When I was a kid my cousin had a plastic model of a wankel with a
little motor to turn it. Until just before junior high I thought all
engines had rotors.
