If Mazda comes out with the 16B. you could make a one rotor that
could get
150 hp N/A using 16B parts. Yes/no?

I would say yes if it was a p-port.
BTW I was thinking we might get a group buy from Hurley Engineering
on cut
down 13B e-shafts and counter weights.
Lets say the cost is $300 for those parts. Then you could build an
all
aluminum (roughly 200 pound) one rotor p-port for about $8500 with
Tracy
PSRU. 3,000 for the end housings, 1,000 for new p-port rotor
housing, 3,000
for the PSRU and a 1,000 for miscellaneous stuff.

The biggest problem that I have with a good water cooled automotive
engine
in the 100 HP range is paying that $3000 for a PSRU, not to mention
that
they usually weigh 40+ pounds. The 40 pound PSRU accounts for about
20% of
the target FWF engine weight and (potentially) 50% of the cost. The
heavy
duty PSRU is needed for the 200 HP engines, but way overkill for 100
HP
engines. If a PSRU could be designed and built for say $1000 that
would
weigh 20 pounds or less I would say this would be significant. All
of the
weight savings that I have seen mentioned costs more money....how
about
lighter and cheaper!!!
Any thoughts on a low cost light weight PSRU that will work with a
single
rotor engine?

The only way your going to get it down to that is if you
make it yourself. However you might want to take a look
at a VW bus axle reduction unit.

Approx Hp rating for the universal one is 160HP this might just
suit what you want. (commercially made) Adapter still required.
There is other info on the site, However it should fit the
bill :-).............9 KGs for the PSRU (20lbs approx).
Not sure about the cost off the top of my head.
Do not try and use the Distributor Link for the US
it will not work. I assume that the address is still OK.
