An electronic reminder makes absolute sense but perhaps folks don't
know about a few of these. My first instructor never taught me any
mental tricks, while my second had me repeat them in a 152. Second
instructor made life much more fun.

We need a new acronym.  GUMPS went out with the old fashioned piston engines
in spam cans.  With a modern rotary with just a throttle, a fixed pitch prop
that acts a lot like a variable pitch, but costs 1/5 and weighs 1/3, a
canard with no flaps, and no fuel selector valve.

So;
G - Gas - nothing to do there, gravity feed from both tanks
U - undercarriage? What the hell is that?  I have never thought of my plane
as being an RU (retractable undercarriage)
M - Mixture - ah-h, nope nothing to do there
P - Prop - not applicable
S - Switches? What switches?  I always thought this was for 'seatbelts'

I guess I'll have to be satisfied with just G for "Gear Check"
