The last two years at Sun-n-Fun I have spent a lot of time in the
   engine tent. People walk through and have a look and talk. The VW guy
   builds an engine every day and starts it up. He has a crowd everyday.
   If we could demonstrate the assembly of a firewall forward, it
   would go a long way.


   At sun-n-fun, each day a different task:
   Disassembly and clean.
   P-port, pressure pot and fill the side intakes (drill press at
   sun-n-fun?)
   Build the engine core, show the oil valve bypass mod, any other mods?
   Modify the water pump housing. Use the welding demo shop across
   the street.
   PSRU, starter, slide throttle, intake system, drip and/or injected
   ECU
   startup on Saturday?

   I might have a 13b core available.
   It would take some planning. We have three months.

   The SnF learning curve should be presented as Rotary 101. I think our
   first objective is simply to educate the builders about the advantages
   of rotary technology. After it's explained, the plans builder will be
   the first to seriously consider the rotary because, for today's kit
   builder, there is too much original engineering and testing required for
   installation. The kit builders don't want to do anything original; they
   want a proven package. Even so, the more adventurous kit builders would
   welcome a components list and well written instruction manual. We would
   send the wrong message by actually demonstrating tricks at SnF. Of
   course it would be interesting but the message would be that the stock
   rotary is weak and needs modification. However, we could have a table to
   display and discuss the mods for the advanced enthusiast. Our ultimate
   goal is to identify and recommend a components package but, at this
   stage, the most effective effort in promoting the rotary is to continue
   the daily tearing down and reassembling of the 12A, answering questions
   and discussing the merits of the rotary. This year, after the tear down
   demo, I plan to demonstrate a running 13B just to bring life to the
   parts previously displayed. And, we need to clean up our tent with a
   more professional display as our presentations have been so
   haphazard ? we can;t glorify the rotary in a makeshift way.

   Maybe we can clean up those two 12A's and paint the cast iron housings
   Ernie. A running 13B would be nice as it would demonstrate
   the smoothness. Tracy has one on a test stand. All we need is someone
   to drive up to Bell with a small flat bed trailer and car and pick it
   up before Sun N Fun and take it back after words. Tracy could show off
   his computer and EFI system with it. What about that Tracy?

I would be happy to transport Tracy's engine for the demo. I'll see
Tracy at the RV Flyin at Lakeland this weekend and determine if this
is workable.
