Portland had 4" of snow yesterday. apparently downtown (hilly) was
    slippery. perhaps, too, that idea of a plane in every garage should be
    thought thru a bit more. these folks seem to have problems just being on

I just do that in the summer months when the days are long and the
weather generally good.
I'm not set up for night flying yet, need to get my instruments
lighted.

     I went flying a few days ago after a snowfall and hung out with
the yachties on and island in the Columbia river, when I got back in
the pattern the gear was frozen so I had to land in the lake right
next to the airport to thaw out the gear hinges and then lowered and
locked the gear right after I lifted off the lake, I noticed it
seemed a little aft CG and when I landed I found the tail was covered
with ice as I did about 5 miles of water taxiing, lots to consider in
winter water flying.
