Paul, here are three photos from Custom Components.  Strip away
everything attached to the dynofocal ring. The Tailwind has a tube
running from the upper corner to the top of the socket.  Not so on
the RV-4.    There are two brackets on the cross beam that tie into
structure on the fire wall but no support for the top end of the
sockets until installed in the plane.

What effect if any will this have on our RV-4 mount design?    Jerry

I think I know what you are referring to.
If these are tied into the foot box on the RV4 you don't
need the Tailwind type tubes. I'll redo the dwgs.
