Not to mention "activation" which I swear to God I will NEVER
do if I live to be 200. The MS software I have will be the LAST
MS Software I will EVER buy. I'll also NEVER EVER buy a new computer
with MS OS. I'll build my own from parts and install Linux.

. . .a decision that I made last year.

My only problem is that the Actiontec DSL router supplied by my telco
doesn't play nicely with Linux.  When I get a little while, I will find
an alternate and plug it in.

Linksys has a speical wireless router for Linux. WRT54GL
Blake turned me on to that as I recall.

I have my old Cisco DSL box somewhere.  That and an Ethernet hub will do
the job.  Maybe that will be this weekend's tinker project.
