My engine didn't come with an old exhaust gasket but I could make  one. Since
the material is going to be compressed between two metals (the exhaust
outlet and manifold) why put tne metal spacer in the middle? Karibian

Try it I'm sure it will work, unless there are bigger gaps. i already
had the original crush gaskets and they had a set for my block.
