I had the same problem with my 125 hp Soob EA81 powered Europa and
after doing the research went to a Catto custom fixed pitch.  WOT speed
instantly jumped from 150 to 175  mph with no other changes.  Climb stayed
the same.

I am building a Europa XS mono, and am hopeful of installing a All Alum
13b with the RB end housings. As a guide could you give me an estimate
of your FWF weight with the Soob and any comments about its handling,
stability and C of G  compared to the Jab/Rotax fit.

Hi Dave -
Aircraft empty wt is 930 lb.  I have a 23 lb battery located right at the
vertical posts for the
mass balance and no other ballast.  Handling is extremely good I think in
the air and on the
ground.  I beefed up the undercarraige swing arm a bit with some additional
tubes welded in
to prevent the swing arm pivot from bending in a hard landing.  I have the
gross weight increase
mod but haven't installed it yet.  Theres some fur flying around right now
on the Europa list
about the monos handling qualities.  I think its a yawner, some listers say
its evil.  I think extra
weight makes it a grandmas taildragger.  Oh yeah, FWF weight about 225
pounds all up and
distance from firewall face to the front face of the prop hub is 34.00".
The all aluminum 13B sounds awesome!  Hadn't thought of that possibility.
Sounds like a hoot!  You may want (need?) more than the standard 18 gal tho.
