Anybody that has worked on anything more complicated than an
lawn mower will appreciate these sites.  Those that do machine work
or work on or fly aircraft will get an even bigger kick.

First is a 1/5th  scale Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 aircraft engine.  This is
what powered the Spitfire and the P-51 Mustang in WW2.  It is supercharged
with multiple speed drives for the supercharger, 4 valves per cylinder,
overhead cam, etc, etc.  and IT RUNS!

How about one of the most complex and advanced Rolls Royce aircraft
engines of WW2?  I don't think it was built in any quantity, but what an
engineering tour de force!

Two flat 12s stacked with a common crankcase, sleeve valves (lots of
detailed pix of the sleeve drive gear), forked rods, fuel injection, and
the MAGS!  Check out the details of the magnetos.   Absolutely amazing
as a real engine, and more so as a homebuilt 1/5th scale model.  Dual,
counterrotating propellors (a side project to build two 4 bladed constant
speed props !!), etc, etc.  The 'assembled cylinder bank' pic is really neat.
