can flywheel mounted magnetos (doesn't the revmaster VW engine do this?) be
installed on a rotary engine?  would the 3:1 e-shaft rotation factor be a
problem or would it simply be a waste spark situation?  could dual coils get
you leading/trailing spark timing?  with all the complications and table
adjustments of fuel injection i wondered if a P-port configuration might
even out the loss of efficiency of a mag/carb installation.  what kind of NA
power could be expected?

Jabiru engines use flywheel magnetos for charging and self energizing
flywheel ignition coils for spark ( Honda M/C IIRC) with fixed advance.
Both very compact and reliable.

BTW I visited  the chap on the Gold Coast who is developing the Revetec
engine www.revetec.net.au - very interesting development an is a better
engine than the Jabiru,  so some say.
