I don't think so :) Been around for ten years. Got a lot of
tax and investment money. NOTHING worked as predicted. Crashed
several times. Just a plain old gyrocopter.

Paul,
I respectfully disagree. The Carter copter, while frought with many
setbacks continues to progress. The fact is that the technology
demonstrator has demonstrated 170+ knot and mu1 flight. That is
certainly not "just another gyrocopter. The crashes have been when
demonstration efforts have been made to do something no gyrocopter has
done, like true vertical TO. While I'm not really interested myself, due
to the obvious high cost of the system, it is interesting technology.
They are progressing and admancing the state-of-the-art of rotor wing
aircraft. I wish them good luck.

I am still not impressed.
As I recall the run of the mill Black Hawk helicopter
flies at 160 kts and WILL take of vertically. The V22 takes
off vertically and flies at 250 knots.
