Anybody know of a USB wireless adapter that will work with
Fedora 5? Most require software to work with Windoze.
I would like to get the ACRE computer working at Sun N Fun as Sun n Fun
is installing wireless thorughout the show area.

I would also be interested. I managed to get Linux up and running on my old
laptop. Linux doesn't recognized the PCMCIA wireless adapter. I am currently
researching the problem, but a USB solution would also be acceptable.

There should be a Linux computer store on the Internet where
they test hardware  and sell compatible stuff. Great biz for
someone to get into. Linux users continue to grow world wide.
Advertising would be near free using a web site. Anybody know
of such a source? Linux Certified in Silicon Valley sells Linux
laptops but they really screwed up my order and then screwed it
up again when I had them try to fix it. There are some web sites
that list compatible hardware but not for laptops as far as I know.

What brand of laptop do you have Doc?

BTW using any browser to configure external  hardware works great on
a Motorola wireless cable modem. You access the modem by typing
in a URL address in the modem. The modem configuration screen
stored in the modem then pops up on the monitor. Works the same in
Windows as it does in Linux. Works great. The same idea would work
with any external hardware connected to the USB or the Ethernet
connector.

The laptop is a HP model XH156. It has a 1992 BIOS that Linux doesn't like,
so I suppose what I really need is an updated BIOS. It does have an Ethernet
port so I will try the router work around; not very portable, but ...
