I can see your problem Paul. Not a lot of room under the
top of the cowl.

How far would you need to move the pulley out to clear
the ign pickup? I think a 1/4 inch would not hurt anything.

I'm dealing with some of the same issues.  You can lose a few inches of
height by flipping the alternator (and using a smaller one) directly
over the alternator mounting flange, but this requires trimming some of
the front housing casting that normally supports the igniter mount.
This is the location shown in Paul's picture on this thread. The other
option is to move the alternator all the way down to the cool side of
the engine.  In a single-belt system, the belt interferes with the e-
shaft position sensor unless an idler pulley is used. A two-belt system
using an extension pulley on the front of the e-shaft (such as the
stock pulley) will move the belt far enough forward to clear the
sensor.  A smaller version of the stock outer pulley would certainly
slow the alternator speed, because this is a very large diameter pulley.

All of the oil filter relocation kits I've found use the stock filter
base, which saves little height after the fittings are in place.  Tracy
used a 3rd generation (FD) oil filter base, which is considerably lower
than the Renesis version. (They cost about $120 new.)  This is the only
13B base that has the oil cooler line integrated. Some builders have
machined a hunk of 6061 that bolts directly to the block and accepts AN
fittings for both a remote filter mount and the oil cooler return.  I
may end up using this option myself.
