I suspect rear PSRU seal problems are caused by Tracy's input shaft not
being concentric with the e-shaft. That means the needle pilot bearing
in the aft end of the e-shaft has not been properly removed or the
input shaft diameter does not fit the hole perfectly.
One needs to check the run out with a dial indicator.

-----------------------------------------------
In Ian's case perhaps his after market bell housings was incorrectly
machined. It is not easy to line up the hole in a bell housing
with the e-shaft axis. A special tool must be made that fits
into a partially assembled engine without e-shaft or rotors. This
tool is a round shaft that just fits the main bearing bores with
a small tapered tip that can be used as a marker punch on the inner
surface of the bell housing bolted to the rear end housing.
Basically what you are doing is align boring the bell housing.
Also attention must be paid to just the right amount of oil
getting to the PSRU and adequate diameter drain back hoses going
to a four inch deep or deeper oil pan. The stock RX8 oil
pan is not adequate in any sense of the word.
Turbo chargers have the same problems.
