Last week I tore down the Renesis engine I bought from Rupert.

   It was amazingly easy, apart from the front end bolt.

   As far as I can tell is the engine in a good condition.
   I have no infos about the engine, but I think it is a very low time
   engine.

   Next step is to clean and inspect all parts and finally do the
   modifications.

   Is the brown varnish around the spark plugs something to be
   concerned about?

   The brown varnish is a common sight. I have seen better rotor housings.
   The rust in the engine is also a bit strange.

   Do you any pictures of the inside (wear) surface of the rotor
   housing, near the intake ports?

BTW We have no idea how many hours this engine had on it or how much apex seal
oil it was fed. I think I will start to add .5 ounces of 2 cycle oil per gallon to
my RX8 to supplement the metering pump amount:) I think the brown varnish deposits are typical
for a rotary engine burning motor oil out of the crankcase.
