A while back you described the chemistry of burning a hydrocarbon. If I
understand this correctly this means whenever ANY hydrocarbon is burned
efficiently there is a fixed amount of CO2 generated per BTU of heat
derived.
Therefore there are no magic "green" fuels. A BTU generated by burning
corn ethanol will generate the same amount of CO2 as a BTU generated by
burning the corn stalk.

Please, there's no desire to start a discussion of global warming or
what the total CO2 cost is of making particular fuels, I just need to
settle this question in my own mind. Off line please.
