Hey how about a simple motorcycle for nice weather days until the VW is
   available?
   Bugs in teeth, wind blown hair, free A/C, life is good;-)  My Ford E-250
   @12mpg costs $120+ to fill in the sad state of Illinois
   (Chicagoland). My
   Ninja 600 4.8gal is under $20 guestimate 45-50mpg. I know the grin
   per mile
   is high on the Ninja.

   So how do we go about doing an open source design similar to the VW?
   Just
   add motorcycle engine or better yet electric. What about state, county,
   federal, regulations?
