Getting a quote for some oval tubing for the intermediate ports.
right now it will be just straight oval tubing in lengths of 6ft
the oval is custom extruded for the inner ports. Material is 6061 with a .065 wall. the tubing can be mandrel bent into a round any thoughts for the bend profile? I initially will bend it at a 3":in
radius but the idea is to keep the manifold as alow a profile as possible like Mistral has done.
Have you seen DR Gas?

click on the oval tubing catalouge this is an idea of what can be done. with oval tubing.

To work well the oval cross sectional area must be the same as the round area. Merely
flattening a round tube won't work for an intake manifold.

Im not talking about flattening a round tube. I'm talking about a custom extruded oval
that is the same cross section as the port, then mandrel bending the oval over the
top. The Dr gas website was merely to show what can be done with oval tubing. I can
flange the oval to accept the necessary tubing size.

What do they charge for a 180 degree mandrel bent 2" oval tube. Why do I suspect they
can not do that? Their transitions are fixed 2.5" round to 1.75 by 2.8125 oval is not
constant area. Some how I think they are mandrel bending round tube 180 degrees
and then squashing it flat :) This is not what we are looking for in a low
profile manifold but good luck.
