Its a 2000 pound Lotus with 1000 pounds of extra batteries. It will fall apart
at the first pot hole :) You can't just add a half a ton (150% increase)
dead weight to  a chassis and expect it to live.

Not to mention the pure electrics are a victim of the compound
efficiencies problem.

It's also important to note that at high noon in the middle of summer
there is only 1Kw per square meter of solar power available for
harvesting.  With affordable solar panel efficiencies in the 15% range
(I used the word affordable), it would take you forever to charge your
sports car on a clear day at high noon.

It's tough to beat gas.
