thing about CV (constant velocity or constant depression) carbs is
    that they meter fuel very precisely under all conditions, the next
    best thing to EFI.

IIRC, CV=  'constant vacuum' or "constant depression"  (ie pressure)

On reflection,
I think 'constant velocity' of air over the jet would cause a constant
vacuum; so the terms are probably interchangeable.
