Isn't a Zenith/Stromberg CD or SU's single needle? My Lotus Europa runs fine on 175CD's since 1974 with a bit of needle
and damper oil tweaking;-)

NO. The Constant velocity carb is a different animal. They use the
piston
and vacuum chamber to handle all kinds of midrange duties, but the top
end is controlled by the main jet. Many types use pilot and main jets.
The
Lectron is a single needle controlling from idle to WOT. The Lectron
isn't
a CV type, it is a slide throttle carb.

BTW I'm all to familar with SU carbs as my dad had a XK150 S Jag, with
3
2 inch SUs stuffed int the right "wing" as the Brits like to say. Our
family
joke was that Sir William Lyons took a rolling chassis and said,"Here
boys
build a body around this as tightly as possible." The machine was a
true
pain in the ass to work on. And I don't abbreviate because I truly mean
it!
I still have a scar on he back of my head where I backed into the
bottom
of the grill whilst the bonnett was open. Truly the definition of a
love-hate
relationship!
