Can we just buy the tube from somebody already made?  Would Ben Ellison
   sell them to us?  Might be fairly cheap?

   Is there a gradient to the number of holes?  In other words, does the
   number of holes per unit length differ at the idle portion as compared
   to the WOT portion?

   It could. Probably be a function of the actual area that was open
   for the air.
   Also of course the size can vary. I have a friend that has one off his
   airplane I'll take a closer look. Ellison's tube is not near as long
   as the
   one we will need. Overall length on ours will be about 13 inches.
   The tubing comes in six foot lengths for about $10.

   The trick is drilling the 1/8 inch dia. hole in the 9.7" long Teflon
   slide straight.
   It is best to start with a short drill and keep changing drills for
   longer
   and longer ones. Also it may be better to drill from both ends and
   have them
   meet in the middle. Too bad you can't buy a gun drill with a 1/8th inch
   bore.

Laser holes really arent the way to go as the laser holes tend to taper
and have variance in the rounded edge. Drilled or edm is the way to go
for small holes. The holes are all the same size BTW you just expose
more of them as the slide moves.

Paul, I don't know about .125 inch gun drills but I'm sure you can get
.17 inch gun drills. .17 REM is a caliber that has made something of a
comeback in shooting circles lately. They must have a source for the
drills somewhere in the US. If all else fails call Remmington and ask!
