I'm an airline mechanic and I just found out how they make all the
small holes (for noise suppression) in the air inlet of the RB211. They
use a rubber mask, sandblast the holes, and then peel off the mask.

Interesting but those are pretty big holes. We are talking .006 " dia.
What airline do you work for? My wife is an A&P with United.
