As a learner (you spell it lurker) I don't feel it appropriate that I
respond, but you asked.  We'll be using an Airflow Performance
mechanical fuel injection because we're replicating Everett Hatch's last
engine and it's proven.  I've done a little programming in Basic,
Fortran, Cobol, ladder logic, and machine language.  This looks like a
two to three month effort of part time work for me by the time you get
all the relationships between airflow, atmospheric pressure and
temperature, engine temperature and rpm, pulse duration, etc., worked
out and I don't have that kind of time available yet.

The PICAXE looks like a very useful tool and I expect to use it at some
time and I fully expect to get into it, but now's not the time.
