Seems I spend more time fixing my Wife's computer that anything else.
   Her mother board went out and I bought a new mother board but Windows XP
   will
   no longer boot. It comes up in the BIOS and setup fine. Naturally
   she did
   back up here data and I would like to get that drive to boot.

        Cheek the BIOS settings under hardware.  Make sure the Hard drive
   detect is set to "Auto".

   It is reading the hard drive OK. It does not like the fact I had to
   change

   processor's with the new mother board. Copy protection pure and
   simple. I gave up.
   The old lady is on her own. If she buys a new windows computer I
   don't want to hear
   about it ever again :) Linux is zero trouble.

I believe MS has a process to allow you to update the hardware on your
PC.  You (she?) might have to spend a few minutes on the phone with them..
