  The JASO FD/ISO-L-EGD oils look to be the best, with API TC/JASO
FC/ISO-L-EGC as being a minimum.

It looks like the main difference between FC and FD is that FD oils leave
the engine at least as clean as FC after the test is run three times longer
at higher temperatures.

GM's 'oil abuse' paper (SAE 740159) suggests that 'deposits cause problems'
such as plug fouling, preignition, and seal sticking.  They also report that
lower ash oil leaves fewer deposites.

JASO FD/ISO-L-EGD require the improved cleanliness with the lowest ash
limits.
