I traced the lack of spark to a bad in line spark tester, then retimed the
engine, the problem seems to be that the engine is flooding. When you remove
the spark plugs the leading plug is dry but the trailing plug is wet with
gas.


Dose this sound like the injectors are sticking open and if so is there a
test for this?

The trailing plug has little to do with it. If you can't wet the leading (lower) plugs
I don't think it is getting enough gas. Check for intake manifold system
air leaks between the mass air flow sensor and end housings ports. Other than
listening for the leaks I don't know of an easy way of doing this.
You could look at the mass airflow sensor trap door and see if it is opening
on its own when you try to start the car.

With a steel rod or stethoscope you should be able to hear all four injectors
clicking when you try to start the car.

Disconnect the return line and plumb it to a jar and see if your are getting
fuel to the fuel rail. Or hook up a fuel pressure gauge.

If so the next thing to try is pull the fuel rail and injectors and
use safety wire to wire the injector to the fuel rail. (If you don't do this
the 40 psi fuel pressure will spit the injectors out of the fuel rail.)

Place four jars under the injectors and see if they are spitting fuel.

I assume you are getting three nice pulses in a row on each rotor
when you use a compression gage without the schrader valve.

The engine started and ran for ~1 second. It set ECU code 02 - No NE signal
from crankshaft angle sensor. What does "No NE signal" mean?

DAC also tested the CAS according to the shop manual and it passed. Rotating
the CAS by hand with the ignition on causes the injectors to click and spark
to be generated. Both front and rear trailing spark plugs are wet with gas
after this test.

DAC also poured gas into the intake manifold. No joy.

That is Code 2. Code 3 could also be active.

Possible problems: Poor connections. Measure the resistance of the pick up
coil. Should be 110 to 210 ohms. No continuity between crank angle sensor
and pin 3E on the ECU.

Sounds like a loose connection. Engine shook it loose.
