Perry I don't remember if we discussed this before but it looks
like a simple problem to adjust the signal out of your mass
air flow sensor for leaning purposes.

Just break the line from pin 2A brown and white wire which I guess is
4.5 volts reference. Supply the top of the mass airflow pot with a lower
reference voltage. This assumes 4.5 volts is wide open throttle.
If you lower the reference voltage to say 4 volts the computer will
think there is less air than there really is and lean accordingly.
Also you want to limit the signal voltage to 4.5 volts going into
the computer so as not to damage it. This can be done with a zener
diode on the input wire.

BTW All you guys with second gen NA RX7 car owners that drive steady speeds on the
freeway for long distances. This will raise your MPG significantly but you better
install a wide band mixture monitor or EGT so you don't over do it. It will also
affect Nitrous Oxide emissions.

I don't know what affect it will have on the catalyst so do this at your own
risk. It won't hurt the engine itself. The rotary will keep running leaner
and leaner until it quits around 200 F lean of peak EGT or about 20:1 air
fuel ratio. Of course the power drops off but you only need 30 HP
to go 70 or 80 MPH on a flat road. This sort of converts a rotary into
a diesel :) Go to full rich when you want to climb a hill or accelerate.
