Are vibration dampeners normally used with belt drives?  Would they
be similar to Tracy's?  I have heard it said the belts naturally
absorb vibration but I am skeptical.   Paul,  in your spare time how
about knocking out a set of  belt drive plans--just to show what is
required.    :)    Jerry

I think you need one. Some of the coolest are found in the hubs
of off road motocross motor bikes. Here are some pictures.

I think they are present in MOST bikes wheel hubs.

At least these are, in my two (litre class) sport bikes.

I notice with my 18,000 Suzuki, there are 6 or 8 dampers of similar design
to Tracy's.  I'm going by memory here but the grommet type dampers press
into one side, with drive pins to the other side, which go through the
center of the grommet. I agree with Richard that they need to be centrally
placed, but I lean to a harder damper as outlined in a past Contact Mag
article on 4 cylinder dampening.

The damping requirements for a four cylinder are entirely different
than the damping requirements for a one rotor rotary.
